A heritage, community park, first opened in 1891 from land that was taken from the former grounds of late 18th Century manor, Wood House. Its layout has largely remained how it was during the Victorian era, although some features, including its bandstand and drinking fountains, have now gone. The Passmore Edwards Library is a Grade II listed building and has a recently opened cafe managed by Applecart Arts.
The organisation with legal responsibility for Plashet Park is Newham Council.
