Introduction

GoParksLondon uses information collected from supporters and visitors to this website to improve the information we offer to you and to improve your online experience. We take your privacy very seriously. This privacy policy sets out details of the personal information we collect about you and the ways in which we may use that information.

When do we collect personal information?

We collect personal information from you when you complete a contact form or when you attend our events.

What may your personal information be used for?

If you are a GoParksLondon supporter, we may use the personal information to:

• Inform you of our work and the different ways in which you can help
• Ask you to support a specific GoParksLondon activity
• Send you an email newsletter with features on parks or friends groups no more than once per month

If you are a GoParksLondon supporter or you provide us with personal information in the context of an event, we may use your personal information to:

• Assess and develop future GoParksLondon events and activities
• Inform you about other GoParksLondon events provided that you choose to receive this information
• Ask you if you would like to receive our supporters' newsletter for friends groups or park users

If you are a GoParksLondon supporter, you may at any time change your mind about receiving information from us. If you initially chose to receive such information, and subsequently decide that you no longer wish to receive information about GoParksLondon, you can notify us by email: laura@cprelondon.org.uk

If you have completed the online contact form or registered a contact email on a website for a Park Friends Group in London then we will email you to confirm that you signed up to GoParksLondon. You will be added to our database of published contacts in order to:

1. subscribe you to our mailing list for friends groups and/or park users
2. (if you are from a friends group), ask you if you would like to create a listing for your community group for GoParksLondon.

You will be able to unsubscribe your contact from the list at any time.

Use of Cookies

A “cookie” is a piece of information, like a tag, which some websites create on your PC. Our cookies allocate each user of this website with a random number.

This procedure does not entail the collection of any personal information. Our cookies will not be used to analyse your visits to other websites or track any internet searches you may undertake whilst on this website.

What if I don’t want to accept cookies?

You can accept or deny the cookies when you first arrive at the website, using the popup which appears at the bottom of the screen.

Your browser lets you choose whether to accept, not to accept or to be warned before accepting cookies. These settings can be found in the preferences. In Chrome select: Settings menu > Privacy > Cookies and other site data.

Updating and amending your personal information

As a GoParksLondon supporter, you have control over the accuracy of your personal information. Third party sites

Our privacy policy does not apply to third party sites that you may access from this website. We recommend you familiarise yourself with the applicable privacy policy before entering any personal information on a third party site.

Security

We have implemented security measures to ensure that your personal information is protected.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We recognise the importance of privacy to our supporters and visitors and intend to remain at the forefront of industry developments in this area. We will keep this policy under review and any changes made from time to time will be posted on this website.

Consent

If you have chosen to ‘opt-in’ to receiving communications from us, you give your consent to the collection, storage, processing and use of your personal information by us as described in this privacy policy.

How We Share Your Information

GoParksLondon is working in partnership with other organisations. These organisations are CPRE London, the London Friends of Green Spaces Network, Greentalk Limited, London Gardens Trust, City of London’s City Bridge Trust and National Park City Foundation. GoParksLondon will be responsible under GDPR regulations for contacts, data and information supplied for the purposes of this map. Occasionally we may share contact information with our partner organisations, for example to discuss a project or a specific park issue.

Personally Identifiable Information

GoParksLondon is the Data Controller. It will not give, rent or sell your personally identifiable information to others, apart from the partners described in the previous section. We may share your personally identifiable information with trusted third parties or project partners for the purpose of providing our services to you (for example, we use MailChimp and/or Mailjet to collect email addresses and to send out our communications). If we do this, such third parties’ use of your information will be bound by this Privacy Policy.

We may store personal information in locations outside the direct control of GoParksLondon (for instance, on servers or databases co-located with hosting providers such as Google Spreadsheets or Mailjet).

Except as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, GoParksLondon will not disclose personal information to any third party unless required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that such action is necessary to (a) conform to the law, comply with legal process served on us or our affiliates, or investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities; (b) to enforce this policy, take precautions against liability, to investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations, to assist government enforcement agencies, or to protect the security or integrity of our site; and (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of GoParksLondon, our users or others.

We will hold contact information for GoParksLondon only for the purposes of the project, i.e. the promotion of London parks and their Friends Groups, and to ask for updates for the park map listings and to assist with the effective management of the project, for example to ask for further information.

Contact information will be kept private, but other information provided by individuals describing and promoting parks will be collected and made available under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Public CC-BY-NC license.
