Winsford Gardens in Penge is a 'hidden gem' as it is located off a busy main road. It offers any visitor the chance to sit back and enjoy the quiet surroundings of mature trees, formal rose beds and herbaceous borders - all part of the original gardens when they were in private ownership, prior to the 1980s. Newer features developed by the friends group include a Beth Chatto-inspired gravel garden, wildflower meadow, natural play area for young children, raised flower and vegetable beds, and plenty of native hedgerows attracting insects and birds.
