Windmill Gardens is a much valued open space with fine trees, fruit bushes, herb garden, children's playground and the Grade 2* listed windmill built in 1816. The park is managed by Lambeth Council and Friends of Windmill Gardens operates the Brixton Windmill Centre, offering volunteering opportunities to show the windmill to the public, enhance the park, take part in milling and help with events.
