A garden square of historical and natural interest. This is one of three garden squares designed by Thomas Cubitt in the early 19th century and it is the only one not in private ownership. St George's Square garden is an important public open space widely used by local people, the majority of whom do not have gardens of their own. It features some fine tree specimens and is home to numerous bird species, squirrels and other wildlife.
