Revesby Road wood is a green woodland connecting Middleton Open Space and Poulter Park. It's been in continuous existence on maps since at least 1620, meaning it's possibly an Ancient Woodland site. The woods are home to mature oak trees, ash, field maple, blackthorn, hawthorn, hazel and cherry plum trees. The blackthorn provides a great breeding environment for the rare Brown Hairstreak Butterfly, which you can see flitting about in September. The trees and bushes provide breeding habitats for several bird species, including ring-necked parakeet, song thrush, robin, chiffchaff, jay, wren, black cap and house sparrows. Dusk brings bats and hedgehogs out to patrol the woods feasting on the plentiful insects. A lovely green space to walk your dog and get immersed in nature.
The organisation with legal responsibility for Revesby Wood is Sutton Council.
Revesby Wood is managed and maintained by Sutton Council
