One Tree Hill nature reserve is a delightful wooded hill, with a surprise viewpoint at the top. The 'one tree' - a magnificent oak planted in 1905 - has been joined by many others over the years, including London planes, poplars and wild service trees. There is plenty of nature to enjoy here, from blackthorn and hawthorn blossom to the song of the blackcap, drumming of the great spotted woodpecker and colourful flight of red admiral butterflies that love the top of the ridge. The main paths and steps are well maintained and accessible all year and it's just a short walk from Honor Oak Park Station.
