A local nature reserve of woodland, meadows and ponds with a network of footpaths including a 4 km way marked Nature Trail. Mentioned in the Doomsday Book(1087) the reserve was part of Crofton Manor it's ancient woodland was once an important source of fuel, timber and wood products while the meadows were farmed. Today it is a habitat for a diverse range of of plants and animals and a pleasant green space enjoyed by the people living around it.
