Opening Times: Car park open daylight hours, 24 hour pedestrian access
This is a little-known hidden gem in an urban area. Handy for a station and buses, as well as having its own car park. It is a real wildlife haven as well as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, surrounded sloe bushes (perfect for sloe gin) and a host of plants rare in London. The area offers lots to the visitor, from a level walk, to a long walk through the adjacent woodland, to a game of football, or using the playground and streams to allow children to let off steam. Dogs are welcome, with bids provided, whether for a short walk on good paths, or a longer ramble deep into the woodland through areas that have been woodlands and fields for centuries. The area has hedgehogs, badgers, and a good number of foxes, as well as a delightful range of woodland fringe birds.
